Reading Newsletter Black History

October is Black History Month. On Friday the children wore red to come to school to embed the message 'Show Racism the Red Card.' Throughout the day on Friday the children also learnt about the achievements of black people.

We would like to share with you are latest Reading Newsletter, which shares more about what the children have been reading and learning about.
A big thank you to those of you who have purchased a book from our Amazon Wish List for Black History. We have had some lovely books arrive and these are already in our school library and being used by the children. This is the link to our Wish LisAmazon.co.uk

Well done to Year 5 who started our day with their informative assembly about Racism and Black History.

Reading is a vital skill that we need to continue to support all of the children to achieve in and most importantly encourage the children to enjoy. Reading has many positive benefits - develops vocabulary, increases concentration, stimulates imagination, improves academic achievement and promotes a positive mental health and wellbeing.

Please support your child to keep reading over half term.
Thank you for your continued support
