Headteacher Welcome to West Kirby Primary School

On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, a warm welcome to you and your family to our school - West Kirby Primary School, Wirral.

At West Kirby Primary School our aim is to create a happy, caring community where all members are included, secure and confident, have an equal opportunity to fulfil their potential and to develop the skills necessary to make a valuable contribution to society, both now and in the future.

I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of our school. I hope that our website will give you a flavour of our school community. At WKPS we are proud of the opportunities that our children have. We provide a broad, balanced, ambitious and creative curriculum with a range of learning opportunities that offer a wide breadth of learning, ensuring all children at our school are successful and have the opportunity to become confident and independent learners. We strive to give children the knowledge and skills they need to be ready for the next stage of their education journey and to be the best they can be in all areas of the curriculum. Reading is at the heart of our curriculum, and we know it is the key to success. We offer a reading rich environment, a well-stocked library and dedicated reading areas in each classroom.

At WKPS our core themes -healthy lifestyles, global citizenship, eco-friendliness and digital awareness enhance our school curriculum and provide enrichment opportunities for the children to develop wider knowledge of the world we live in. Our school is friendly, inclusive, has a strong emphasis on wellbeing and always strives for achieving high academic standards. We value the partnership between home and school and encourage all parents/carers to take an active part in the education of the children and life of the school.

Selecting a school for your child is a very important decision and I realise how important it is to feel trust in the people that care for your child each day. We welcome you to come and have a look around our school, meet us and see us in action. To arrange a visit, call our School Office (0151 625 5561) and speak to Mr Davis our Business Manager.

All of the information and documents on our website are available as a paper copy if you ask at The School Office.
