Law requires the following additional information.

1) Complaints about the Curriculum.

In accordance with Section 23 of the Education Reform Act, the Authority has adopted a procedure to deal with complaints about the curriculum. Most complaints are settled quickly and informally at school level; the complaints procedure exists for parents who also wish to pursue a complaint through more formal channels. A copy of the complaints procedure is available from the school or directly from the Education Department.

The following documents are available in school for parents to peruse:

  • The Local Education Authority’s agreed syllabus for Religious Education.
  • The Local Education Authority’s statement of curriculum policy.
  • The statutory instruments (including statutory orders for National Curriculum subjects) circulars and administrative memoranda relating to powers and duties under Chapter 1 of the Education Reform Act (The Curriculum) that are sent to school by the Department of Education and Employment.
  • Governors’ policy documents.

Schemes of work used by the teachers.

  • A copy of the Charging and Remissions Policies determined by the Governing Body of the school.
  • Complaints procedures

2) Pupils Absence Rates.

The following information refers to rates of authorised and unauthorised absence for 20010/11.

a) Total number of registered pupils of COMPULSORY school age = 262 + 24 in Nursery part time.
b) % of authorised absences = 4.94%
c) % of unauthorised absence = 0.3%
