Mission Statement
The Aims of Our School
We seek to create a happy, caring community where all members are included, secure and confident, have an equal opportunity to fulfil their potential, and can develop the skills necessary to play a worthwhile part in society, both now and in the future.
In order to achieve this, at West Kirby Primary School we aim: -
1) to provide all children with a broad and balanced curriculum appropriate to their individual needs and abilities.
2) to provide a stimulating environment where children can develop lively, enquiring minds, an enjoyment of learning and the ability to reflect upon their experience.
3) to develop in each child a sense of self-esteem, respect for others and the capacity to be independent and self motivated.
4) to promote each child’s spiritual, moral, social, cultural, physical and mental well being and development.
5) to develop each child’s aesthetic awareness and to provide opportunities for the growth of creativity and imagination.
6) to promote close links between home and school.
7) to promote close links between school and the local community.
In order to pursue these aims, we to be an educationally inclusive school which makes effective provision for the teaching and learning of all groups within the school, including boys and girls, the gifted and talented, those with special educational needs, children from ethnic minorities etc. We take practical steps whenever necessary to meet pupils’ needs effectively and to promote tolerance and understanding amongst all our pupils.
